It's been forever!

Got some commission work the other day. A pendant and necklace with the text "Not all those who wander are lost". Here's the first mock up...

The customer requested them to be very simple and plain designs. She asked for block text, but I think this will be fine. The pendant is about the size of a silver dollar. Both will be cast in silver.

I also will be meeting with another customer tomorrow afternoon. They have a ring that needs to be fixed, and possibly duplicated. I'll most likely bring it to Dave for his professional opinion.

Sketches and Works in progress

I've had these paua shell pieces for over a year now and haven't done a thing with them until a couple days ago. First up is one half of a set of earrings. I haven't decided how to finish them off yet but they will be of the dangly variety.

Here is a pendant design with more of the paua shell. Another work in progress but I like where these are going. I want to do more with the "cuff" and wire wrap idea.

This stuff is really hard to take pictures of when you don't have any of the appropriate photography equipment.

Just a sketch of the Snake knot ring. I really like how this drawing came out. Some day I will get a picture of the actual finished ring and post it.

Snakes on a Nikki

I'm really happy with how this came out. It was my first attempt sculpting something in Rhino.

New stuff

I was asked me to make some earrings for my friend's sister's birthday. This is what I came up with. I've had these spiny oyster shell pieces for over a year and until now never did anything with them.

I've also been working on a couple new Rhino generated rings. One is for my mom with some stones from old used jewelry. Its not really close to being done, so no pics yet.

The other is a top secret project that's coming out really cool. I'll post pics after its been given to the customer.

Better Pictures!

Decent photography is crucial.

Dave gave me a new flex shaft and a bunch of random jewelry making tools today. The flex shaft is pretty sweet, much better then working with a dremel.

Done and done

Its done, and I'm very happy with it. Better pictures hopefully coming soon.

I also finished my internship with an A. That makes up the last credits I need to finally be done with school. I still plan on going to Framingham to continue learning with Dave. He's a great teacher and I know there's a lot more I can learn from him.

I sold my Pearl bypass ring to a friend of mine! I've sold a couple pairs of earrings before, but never a ring and not for as much a I sold it for. I can eat this week! haha

The next project I'll be working on is a ring for my mother made from recycled jewelry. It'll have three oval shaped rubies. Shes looking for a kind of art nouveau style piece so it should be pretty fun to create.
