Done and done

Its done, and I'm very happy with it. Better pictures hopefully coming soon.

I also finished my internship with an A. That makes up the last credits I need to finally be done with school. I still plan on going to Framingham to continue learning with Dave. He's a great teacher and I know there's a lot more I can learn from him.

I sold my Pearl bypass ring to a friend of mine! I've sold a couple pairs of earrings before, but never a ring and not for as much a I sold it for. I can eat this week! haha

The next project I'll be working on is a ring for my mother made from recycled jewelry. It'll have three oval shaped rubies. Shes looking for a kind of art nouveau style piece so it should be pretty fun to create.

Newest ring done! plus more

So here it is finally. I'm really happy with it. I think pearls are beginning to be one of my favorite stones to work with.

Here's the wax for my new pendant design. I'm a little worried about the detailed areas on the side panels. Everything is way smaller then it looks in the render. I'm still deciding what kind of finish to use on the various areas. Black patina, sandblasting, and high polish are what I'm debating.

I'm hoping to whatever jewelry/casting gods may be out there that it is in silver with enough time to submit it to this years Bridge volume.

Project update

Here's my progress on the pearl ring. Laser welded the posts for the pearls and set the three faceted onyx.

I only have 2 weeks to make new stuff for this years Bridge. I felt this pendant could be done the fastest of my sketched designs so I started the other day.

I bought this agate on eBay for the center piece of that pendant. Creepy eye.....maybe I should call this one soul caliber. The smaller three stones will be moon stone (top), sodalite (middle), sun stone (bottom).

I should be working.....

Resume and Portfolio

My roommate Dave (who does everything for Bern) made my resume and portfolio out of the images Brian Smith took a while back. Professional photography of award winning art compiled into a professionally designed presentation. The people I know and live with are awesome.

...and I love dropping the word professional.

ALSO! My pearl ring is back from the caster and I have started getting it ready to be set. I get really excited when I can see my face reflected in one of my CAD designs.

Allison inspired me to post sketches on my blog so here we go;

I don't update this enough

Heres a couple pics of the stuff I'm working on right now.

This one will have black and white pearls followed by a row of faceted stones the opposite color of the pearl. Onyx with the white and cz's with the black.

My second channel set ring. It has been milled and cast, just have to clean it up and set the center prong and side 3mm cz's.
